Multi-Host Flash Management

ioSphere gives you the ability to manage multiple hosts from one web console, centralizing ioMemory management to a single web-based interface, easing administration and saving you time.

Discovery and Inventory

Keeping tabs on all of your ioMemory devices is critical. The ioSphere inventory database and query tools provide a complete view of your ioMemory devices within your network so you can quickly configure or get the information you need from a single management web console.

Real-Time Proactive Monitoring

ioSphere allows you to proactively monitor the health and performance of all ioMemory within your network to anticipate problems before they become critical.  Prepared and custom alerts provide immediate notification issues that need your attention, preventing downtime, data loss, and business interruption.

Historical Performance Monitoring

ioSphere provides dashboard and historical trend reports that give you an overall view of the performance and health of your ioMemory assets, enabling effective strategic planning and tactical operations for your data infrastructure. 

Warranty Forecast

NAND flash memory life is limited to a finite number of program-erase cycles. ioSphere forecasts when an ioMemory device will reach the end of its usage warranty, in terms of petabytes written or PBW. This allows you to replace inventory before coverage expires.

LDAP for User Authentication

ioSphere supports LDAP integration for user authentication based on industry standards at no additional cost.

ioManager 3/ioSphere Feature Comparison

Server 

Requirements to run ioSphere on a centralized server:

• RAM: 512MB plus 20MB of free RAM for each ioMemory module managed
• Storage: Up to 10MB minimum hard drive space + up to 3 MB additional space for each ioMemory module
• Fusion-io VSL: Version 2.1 or later

Agent

Requirements to run ioSphere as an agent on each ioMemory host server.

• RAM: Minimum of 64MB of free RAM
• Fusion-io VSL: Version 2.1 or later

Security Standards

ioSphere uses standard, proven protocols to ensure the highest level of end-to-end security and authentication.
Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is used to securely transmit the data between the ioSphere server and any ioSphere clients (web browser and fio-agents).  A generic Fusion-io SSL certificate is included with ioSphere install, but Fusion-io encourages customers to use their own SSL certificates for stronger security. 

Firewall Provisioning

The HTTPS port used for communication with ioSphere is set by the customer at installation.

User Authentication

Users can configure ioSphere to use their existing LDAP authentication or create a custom username/password, which is encrypted and stored in ioSphere.
