WORDS WITH WOZ: See the IP Expo Keynote Address Video

Posted: 10/24/2011

What do a cage full of monkeys and the Woz have in common? Not a lot really, beyond the Fusion-io keynote at IP Expo in London. Given that Woz has many more fans than could fit into the keynote theatre at Earls Court, we’ve got the talk here for you to watch. Check out the keynote video to solve the monkey mystery!

Our chief scientist Steve Wozniak joined forces with co-founder Rick White to give the keynote address, titled “Today’s Science Fiction, Tomorrow’s Science Fact,” to a standing room only crowd. Woz and Rick covered how to stay focused on the creative elements of innovation to avoid getting bogged down in “the way things have always been done,” which is exactly the way Fusion-io approaches solving the challenges of data supply and application acceleration.

If you were on site and grabbed a photo with Woz, you can grab your picture on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/fusionio.

This company is on the verge of something wonderful! I just about started to cry when I listened to Steve speak. It brought back so many memories about seeing and buying my first Mac that eventually launched my career in IT. I remember in 84 I was walking by a computer store and I saw this small machine in the store window drawing a picture. I said to myself "I have to have this". I took a bank loan out for $4800 and bought my first Mac. I did not realize it but it was truly a life changing moment as it opened up so many opportunities for me. Being an only child from a divorced family I can honestly say that I spent long hours using MacPaint, Hypercard, and Excel.

Now at 48 years of age I just bought a MacAir with no moving parts and I love it!

Last Thursday I had been doing some research into SSD companies and by accident came across Fusion-io. Once I had done further investigation into their management staff and looked at their product line I was convinced that this company could become a big deal. So my initial plan was to buy some shares on Monday morning but couldn't get some cash together until yesterday. I managed to buy some mind you higher than I preferred but hopefully I will do ok in the long run.

Steve is a innovation pioneer. Good luck to him and all the staff at Fusion-IO. Let's rock!
