Red Hat Recommends Fusion-io

Defined as "The Open Source Company," Red Hat has a broad portfolio of products that its customers can choose from with open source freedom. “Open source to us is like a religion,” says Sanjay Rao, Principle Software Engineer. "We stick to our philosophy."

Red Hat’s Performance Engineering Team’s role is to anticipate the future performance needs of customers. Doug O’Flaherty, Sr. Manager of Product Marketing explains that a big part they provide the open source community with is “pushing the envelope of performance and reliability.”

The Performance Engineering Team initially wanted to use Fusion technology internally. While out-of-the-box performance was impressive, Sanjay says, a collaboration with the Fusion-io team increased performance to 1.2 to 1.25 million IOPS.
