InFrame Designs Delivers Real-Time Graphics for National TV with ioMemory

Posted: 02/02/2012

Fusion-io has announced that InFrame Designs, a Canada-based provider of custom-built media servers for live media events, has deployed ioMemory technology to improve production values and deliver better content to its media partners at a much lower cost. With Fusion ioMemory in its Vixen media servers, InFrame Designs is able to reduce latency by as much as 100 times and achieve another six-fold application performance improvement in comparison to its previous architecture.

With 1080p HD the norm in broadcasting, and film production moving to 4K and above, the quality of the footage used in projections and live events has had to step up. Delivering HD content in real time at live events can cause memory storage challenges and bandwidth bottleneck problems. That's why InFrame turned to Fusion-io.

InFrame Designs' Vixen media servers are behind some of the largest and most complex television and live-event productions in Canada, including Battle of the Blades from the Canadian Broadcast Corporation, the Canadian Juno Awards and more.

For InFrame, the ability to playback multiple uncompressed HD video streams with the lowest amount of latency is critical for live media. With Fusion-io technology installed in its media servers, playback performance and delivery are no longer an issue.
