Today is a great day at Fusion-io, as we are introducing an entirely new product line, ioDrive2. Following closely in the footsteps of the groundbreaking ioDrive, ioDrive2 brings the performance, capacity, reliability and endurance that customers have come to expect from Fusion-io. It has been a long time coming, and we are excited to share.

We’re launching at Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco today. Databases continue to be a phenomenal opportunity for our customers to achieve eye-popping results, like the 40X faster queries Datalogix discovered when it installed ioDrives. The ability to increase transactions per second, maintain a small footprint, reduce the reliance on expensive and complex SANs, and fit across single instance to RAC configurations makes Fusion-io a natural choice in Oracle environments. We are showcasing a new Virtual Storage Layer (VSL) architecture that enables us to stay ahead of the industry in adopting the latest NAND technology while creating high-performance reliable, enterprise solutions. Through sophisticated flash management, Fusion-io is able to deliver the speed, low latency, and reliability that puts ioDrive2 ahead of the pack.

Our capacities are nearly doubling with up to 2.4 terabytes on a single full height, half-lengh card. In many servers, this will allow configurations of well over 20 terabytes within the server itself, dramatically increasing the range of applications and databases that can be easily accelerated.

We continue to add operating system support with each new version of our Virtual Storage Layer. Newly added are ESXi 5.0 and HP-UX. And smart CPU utilization is enhanced with ioDrive2. We focus on leveraging the most cost-effective CPU cycles to deliver low CPU utilization per work output.

But perhaps the biggest thing about our ioDrive2 launch is the opportunity to look at the bigger picture. Just a few years ago, businesses were hesitant to deploy NAND flash in their data centers. How much has changed in just a few years. Now everyone from the largest web companies to the biggest banks are changing the way they architect data centers with Fusion-io technology.

We are also thankful to have an outstanding roster of partners, including the leading server vendors in the world like HP, IBM, Dell, and Supermicro, all of whom have helped make this data center transformation a reality.
