Announcing our Three Project ioFX Finalists

Announcing our Three Project ioFX Finalists

Posted: 31 Jul 2012

Thanks to everyone who submitted a video in Project ioFX. We were blown away by the talent demonstrated by the participants. Some of the entries were solo acts, and some were large, complex group efforts. Overall, the quality of entries was outstanding. It was challenging enough to choose the ten semi-finalists, which we announced last week (check them out on our Youtube channel),  but it was even more difficult to narrow the list down to the three finalists.

Our judges, Oscar winner Rob Legato, actor Danny Trejo, and our chief scientist, Steve Wozniak, have come to an agreement on the top three videos. So, without further ado, here are the three Project ioFX finalists: Brett Lambright, Frederick Ross, and Luis Kelly-Duarte. Congratulations! All three finalists will be awarded a Fusion ioFX, Adobe CS6 Production Premium, NVIDIA Quadro GPU, and hotel and airfare for SIGGRAPH 2012 in Los Angeles next month.

Many of the participants' videos showed the struggles that digital content creators face daily. In the end, the judges chose Brett, Frederick, and Luis' films for their creativity, stellar filmmaking ability, stunning visual effects, and their illustration of the problems that filmmakers face and how the ioFX solves those problems. These three finalists understood the benefits the ioFX provides to digital content creators. Check out their videos, and let us know what you think! We'll announce the grand prize winner on August 8 at SIGGRAPH and award the grand prize—a RED Scarlet camera kit and a MAINGEAR workstation.

See you at SIGGRAPH next week!
