Fusion-io Powers New HP Data Accelerator Solution for Oracle

Posted: 10/04/2011

There is big news at Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco, with HP and Fusion-io spotlighting the HP Data Accelerator Solution for Oracle.

See it in action in a live demo in Fusion-io's booth #421. The details: We're running Oracle Enterprise Edition database version 11g Release 2 on a single eight processor HP ProLiant DL980 G7 system integrated with 14 Fusion ioMemory-based HP IO Accelerators, achieving performance of more than 600,000 IOPS with over 6GB/s bandwidth using a real world, read/write mixed workload.

This demo is related to HP’s new Data Accelerator Solution for Oracle reference architecture that integrates IO Accelerators into its DL980 G7 platform and is being showcased by HP in its booth,  #1301. HP is also conducting a theatre session presentation in the HP booth on both Tuesday and Wednesday, October 4 and 5, at 10:00 a.m.

So what is the Data Accelerator Solution for Oracle? Simply put, it’s a tested hardware configuration proven to deliver high performance Oracle database results. Designed to meet the demands of even the most I/O intensive Oracle database workloads, the HP Data Accelerator Solution for Oracle is configured with up to 12TB of high performance flash to provide low latency performance for real world implementations.

The HP Data Accelerator Solution for Oracle includes hardware and software recommendations optimized for the deployment of Oracle environments, including all packaged and custom applications, as well as data warehousing and virtualization.

HP’s Michael St-Jean, business manager for HP’s Solutions and Alliances team and Shawn Nunley, Fusion-io Technical Strategist, cover the details of this new reference architecture in a short podcast.  You can listen here, and you can also find additional information about the solution in a flash demo available here.
